Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) secured a resounding 4–0 victory over Anal Lenruwl Tangpi to book their place in the final of the 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy in the second semi-final held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on Thursday.
Sanathoi opened the scoring for NUSC in the 9th minute and later added a second goal in the 82nd minute. Jenish netted the second goal in the 30th minute, while Joel completed the scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time, sealing a comprehensive triumph for the side.
Arap Konyak of NUSC was adjudged Player of the Match for his stellar performance in midfield, orchestrating plays and creating key opportunities for his teammates. The award was presented by the match patron, Benei M Lamthiu, MLA and General Secretary of the Nagaland Football Association.
With this victory, NUSC set up a highly anticipated final clash against Chedema Village Youth Organisation (CVYO), who earlier defeated Sechü Zubza FC 2–1 in the first semi-final.
