NSF seeks action against accused in NICSE fraud case

DIMAPUR, MAY 7 (NPN): Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed serious concern over the delay in delivering justice to students allegedly affected by the abrupt closure of coaching centres run by the National Institute of Civil Service Examinations (NICSE).
In a representation addressed to the director general of police (DGP) Nagaland, Naga Students’ Federation president Mteisuding and general secretary Kenilo Kent said an FIR was lodged on February 3, 2026 against NICSE managing director Suman Saha and his associates over allegations of cheating, financial exploitation, mental harassment and the sudden shutdown of coaching centres in Kohima, Dimapur and Chümoukedima.
NSF alleged that despite considerable time having passed since the filing of the complaint, no visible progress or concrete action had been taken by the authorities.
Stating that the matter concerned the future and aspirations of many students, the federation alleged that the accused collected full course fees while failing to provide the promised educational services. The federation further claimed that the centres were shut down without prior notice and that repeated appeals by students seeking refunds or completion of courses had allegedly been ignored through “excuses and evasive responses.”
NSF said the delay in investigation and legal proceedings had aggravated the mental distress of the affected students and raised public concern over the pace of justice delivery in matters involving students’ welfare.
Therefiore, NSF has urged the responsible authorities to expedite the investigation, ensure that all accused persons were traced and brought under the purview of law, and initiate strict legal action against those involved.
