NSF to Verify NEET Documents for State Quota

The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has announced a three-day physical document verification drive for candidates who have qualified through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and are seeking admission under the Nagaland State Quota.

The verification process is scheduled to take place from August 5 to 7 at the NSF Office in Kohima, and will be supervised by the Federation’s Education Committee. The initiative aims to uphold transparency and ensure that only eligible indigenous candidates are allotted seats under the state quota.

In a press release issued Sunday, the NSF stated that all shortlisted candidates must appear in person for the verification, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Required documents include:

  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • NEET Admit Card and Score Card
  • HSLC and HSSLC Admit Cards
  • Scheduled Tribe Certificate
  • Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate

The Federation reiterated that only individuals who are “Nagas by blood and indigenous to the state of Nagaland” are entitled to claim seats under the quota. It also raised concerns over reported instances of non-indigenous applicants attempting to secure admissions through the state quota, warning that such cases would not be entertained.

“Any candidate failing to complete the verification within the stipulated dates will be deemed ineligible,” the statement read. “Appropriate action will be taken against those found submitting fraudulent or misleading documents.”

NSF President Medovi Rhi and Secretary Education Temjentoshi affirmed the Federation’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of indigenous Naga students, adding that the organization will continue to monitor the admission process to prevent misuse of state quota provisions.

Candidates seeking clarification regarding the verification process may contact the NSF at 8974523931 or 8731911712.
