In a closely fought contest of the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Trophy at Chümoukedima Football Stadium, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (ALT) secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kirha FC in match number 20 on Friday.
The decisive moment came in the 26th minute when ALT’s forward Winkle (11) broke through the Kirha defense to slot home the only goal of the encounter. Despite repeated attempts, Kirha FC failed to find an equaliser, with ALT’s backline holding firm until the final whistle.
Winkle’s performance not only gave his side the win but also earned him the Man of the Match title, which was handed over by Vimetsino Yakhro, secretary of education, Angami Students’ Union.
The match was patronised by V. Pushika Aomi, former president of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF).
