NSF Trophy: Chedema YO andTKS advance to quarter-finals

In two action-packed pre-quarterfinal matches of the ongoing 25th Anniversary Edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025, Chedema Youth Organisation and Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) marched into the quarterfinals with convincing victories at the IG Stadium, Kohima.
In the first pre-quarter match, Chedema Youth Organisation dominated Rever Gangtok SC with a commanding 4-0 win. The team displayed composure and tactical superiority from the start, with forward Lenboilun (jersey no. 12) netting two quick goals in the 39th and 42nd minutes to give Chedema a strong first-half lead. Daniel (17) extended the advantage in the 60th minute, while Zemik (19) sealed the win with a precise finish in the 84th minute.
Robinson (99) of Chedema Youth Organisation was adjudged Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance. The award was handed over by Sinhilo Thong, former NSF vice president and member of the steering committee. The match was patronised by Imkongzenla Jamir, Joint Director, Social Welfare Department.
In the second pre-quarter encounter, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) secured their place in the last eight after defeating Mez & Co 3-1 in a fiercely contested game. Chanso (65) opened the scoring for TKS in the 27th minute, but Mez & Co equalised in the 64th minute through Haokhohen (2). However, TKS regained momentum with Wongshung (25) finding the net in the 83rd minute, followed by Samson (99) sealing the victory deep into stoppage time (90+5).
Wongshung (25) of TKS was declared Player of the Match, with the award presented by P. George Vizo, member of the Technical Committee. The match patron was Roben Mesen, Regional Transport Officer, Kohima.
Both Chedema Youth Organisation and TKS now advance to the quarterfinals as the competition intensifies, promising even more thrilling encounters in the days ahead.
