NSF Trophy: Ward 19, Michazou secure pre-quarter berths

Ward 19 Kohima sealed their place in the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025 with a 2-1 victory over PLLA Manipur in Match No. 26 played at IG Stadium, Kohima, on Friday.
Ward 19 made an early breakthrough when Bikash (jersey no. 24) struck in the 6th minute, giving his side a quick lead.
The advantage was doubled in the 40th minute through Kakhevi Assumi (13), who slotted home to ensure a comfortable position for the Kohima side going into halftime.
PLLA Manipur, however, fought back and managed to reduce the deficit when Hemgoulal (20) scored in stoppage time (90+5 minute), but it proved too late as Ward 19 held firm to advance into the next round.
Laba Jr (4) of Ward 19 was adjudged the Player of the Match and received the award from Vizhoto Hibo (NPS), Commandant of the 4th NAP Thizama.
Meanwhile, in Match No. 25, Michazou FC advanced directly to the pre-quarterfinals after their opponents, Sadar Hills Football Academy, Manipur, failed to appear for their third fixture. Ward 19 will now face Sechü Zubza Football Club while Michazou FC will take on Red Scars in the pre-quarterfinal stage.
