Affirming that the Naga solution must be inclusive, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has appealed the Government of India to bring on board both NSCN (I-M) and WC of NNPGs for lasting peace.
NSF president Ninoto Awomi said this while interacting with media persons on the sidelines of a candle light vigil cum prayer session that was held at NSF office Naga Club building here on Monday night in solidarity with the Naga negotiators for an inclusive, honourable and acceptance solution to the protracted “Indo-Naga” peace process and for lasting peace and tranquillity in Naga homeland.
NSF president said that Naga people cannot afford in case government of India signed the agreement with only seven NNPGs. “If such things happen instead of lasting peace to the Nagas it would bring more problems to the Nagas,” he said.
Reiterating NSF stand on Naga issue, Awomi said the federation has been always for sovereignty and integration since its inception. He said those were the basic principle and objective of NSF founding members, adding that the federation always stick to that.
Awomi also said that NSF would continue to pursue for sovereignty and integration democratically and peacefully until the inspiration of the Nagas was achieved. Queried on stand of NSF on Naga flag and constitution, NSF president said that since the flag was Naga identity, the federation was for it. He said even government of India recognized the unique identity and history of the Nagas, adding that the unique history and unique solution must be “our identity”. On constitution, Awomi said “we are not part of negotiating party, but it is our wish that GoI and negotiating party come to mutual understanding”.
NSF president, who chaired the programme, expressed gratitude to the gathering for extending their solidarity. Stating that the crucial talk was going to directly impact the entire Nagas, NSF president appealed to the Naga people to offer prayer for divine intervention at this hour.
The programme was attended by NSF officials and its subordinate unit leaders, former NSF leaders, ANCSU representatives, Anagmi students’ union, various student leaders, well-wishers and others.
The similar programmes were also organized in all the Naga districts in Manipur.
Invocation and benediction prayers were given said by youth associate pastor, Rengma Baptist church Kohima Zakevi Kesen and special song presented by Khrizotuolie Chase, who also led in singing the song “we shall overcome”.
