NSLSA digitizes LSC in jails

Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) under the guidance of National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) carried out Digitization of Legal Services Clinic (LSC) in all the jails of Nagaland on February 14- 24.
A press release issued by NSLSA informed that the project aimed to maintain proper record keeping of the activities in such clinics and to have data with regard to the court cases pertaining to each prisoner readily accessible in the said clinics. It also informed that prisoner data is to be maintained in local computers which can be accessed by the digitized legal services clinic in the respective jails. Particulars of the orders passed by various courts, next date of hearing etc, this along with the names of advocate representing the UTPs in the courts will help and ensure that no UTPs remain unrepresented.
Meanwhile, the digitization of LSC in Kohima jail was launched by CJM and secretary Kohima DLSA, Victo Sema on February 14, district & sessions judge and chairman Zunheboto DLSA, N. Suyie launched the digitization of LSC in Zunheboto jail on February 15, JMFC and secretary Wokha DLSA, Seyielenuo Mezhu launched the digitization of LSC in Wokha jail on February 16, principal district & session judge and chairman Mokokchung DLSA, Khape Koza launched the digitization of LSC in Mokokchung jail on February 17. superintendent of Mon district jail, Bangwao Konyak launched the digitization of LSC in Mon jail on February 18, JMFC & secretary Tuensang DLSA, Nokshei Kano launched the digitization of LSC in Tuensang jail on  February 19, CJM & secretary Kiphire DLSA, M.T. Therieh launched the digitization of LSC in Kiphire jail on February 20, district & sessions judge and chairman Phek DLSA, N. Lonshithung Ezung launched the digitization of LSC in Phek jail on February 21, principal district and sessions judge and chairman of Peren DLSA and Dimapur DLSA, Hukato Swu inaugurated the digitization of LSC at Peren Jail on February 23 and LSC at Dimapur Central jail on February 24, while deputy superintendent of Dimapur district jail, Nikaho Yepthomi inaugurated the LSC at dimapur district jail on February 24. The LSCs were provided with computer desktop, printer, internet connectivity and stationeries.
