Naga Students’ Organization (NSO), Myanmar organized its 5th general conference from December 13-15 at Mala Taung Hall, Lahe town under the theme “Conquer Impediments” with NSAZ government executive member U Law Yone as chief guest.
At the conference, the house adopted resolutions to closely monitor the educational system in all Naga-inhabited areas and to strictly check the excessive use of opium in the region.
New office bearers headed by president T. Mankhat Konyak, general secretary Myint Naing and executive chairman L. Patun were also elected. Further, Naga Students’ Organization (NSO) and Naga Students and Youth’s Federation (Myanmar) have agreed to share responsibilities. Both parties unanimously concurred that NSO would deal with the students activities and would remain as apex body for the Naga students, whereas NSYF-M would change its nomenclature to NYF and would deal with all youth activities and would remain as apex body for entire Naga youths. The two organizations have agreed to work hand in hand for the betterment of the Naga society. The next general conference is scheduled to be held at Layshi town.
