NSO (FOD) observes Statistics Day

National Statistical Office (FOD) Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, regional office Kohima observed the 13th Statistics Day along with the rest of the country on the theme “sustainable development goals” on June 29 at regional office Kohima.

A press release from NSO, Kohima, SSO, O. Patton stated that, Roselyn V. Singsit, student from Science College, Kohima, as theme speaker spoke on the importance of a strong statistical system to achieve sustainable development goals with a Vision 2030 to eradicate poverty from humanity.

O. Patton, SSO in his key note address, shared about the background of National Statistics Day and the agenda (sustainable development goals) adopted by United Nations general assembly in September 2015.

Quiz competition was also held and winners were handed awards. The programme was led by N.Haolai, JSO, welcome address by L. K. Ngathingkhui, SSO and vote of thanks by Avi Thakro, SSO.
