NSO holds training on tourism, travel and construction surveys

DIMAPUR

A three-day Regional Training Camp on the 80th round of Domestic Tourism Expenditure Survey (DTES), National Household Travel Survey (NHTS), and ASUSE-Pilot Survey on Construction was held from June 23 to 25, 2025 at the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Kohima.
According to a press release by NSC, the camp was jointly organised by the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Regional Office Kohima, and the State Directorate of Economics & Statistics (DES), Nagaland.
Director, DES Nagaland, Neidilhou Keditsi, addressed the inaugural session, while director, NSO (FOD) Kohima, E. Renbi Jami, highlighted the survey subjects. Technical sessions were led by assistant director L.K. Ngathingkhui and Senior Statistical Officers Imtizulu and R. Mhabemo Ngullie.
The DTES contributes to preparing the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA), while the HTS collects data on individual travel patterns to help the Ministry of Railways understand travel behaviour and transport preferences.
