Regional Office of National Statistics Office (FOD), Kohima organised a Quiz Competition ‘Anvesha 2.0’ at the Conference Hall of Directorate of Economics & Statistics to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of National Sample Survey on July 18.
The event was part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness on official statistics and the Indian economy. The inaugural session was graced by Akunu S Meyase, secretary, Economics & Statistics Department, Government of Nagaland, who highlighted the role of statistics in national development and public engagement.
Fifteen teams from 10 colleges and one university in Kohima town participated. The quiz was conducted in written and oral rounds by Quiz Master Weto Losou, vice principal, Baptist High.
Kohima College won the first prize with a trophy and cash award of Rs.10,000. Alder College bagged second prize and Rs.6,000, while Nagaland University secured third place with Rs. 4,000. All participants received citation certificates.
Neisatuo Puro, additional director, Directorate of Economics & Statistics addressed the gathering, and E. Renbi Jami, ISS, director & HoD NSO (FOD) Kohima, spoke on the significance of the NSS 75th anniversary. Vote of thanks was proposed by LK. Ngathingkhui, assistant director, NSO Kohima.
