Reacting to the statement ‘NLD surprised over peace mission report’ published in section of the local daily on February 7 last, Naga Students’ Organization (NSO) in a press release said they were shocked and surprised by the unexpected write-up, using the name of NLD and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as ‘hand in glove to warn NSO and the public’.
NSO general secretary T. Mankhat Konyak said appreciating Naga Hoho and ENPO peace team to Myanmar had “no other intention than to support/cooperate any movement related to peace mission wherever, whenever”.
NSO said they mentioned MPs, Naga Yuya leaders, senior Naga leaders, Kyaw Win Swe and Myanmar peace committee vice chairman since they were informed that the peace team met them.
NSO said it took serious note of the caution by U Law Yone, chairman, NLD Naga region to NSO. “We never expect and it is one of the hardest things to belief that our leader will warn us (his voters, his public) for we support peace process,” NSO stated.
NSO said Yone would be solely held responsible if anything may happen to NSO and students community in near future. The warning would be recorded for the student community to know in the coming days, it added.
Meanwhile, NSO has asked Yone to “declare/clarify” his remark as to whom he meant by “genuine Naga” as per his statement.
