NSRLM conducts training on livelihoods perspective

Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted training on livelihoods perspective for the district functional specialists (Livelihoods) and the assistant district program managers at SIRD from July 6 to 8, with the support of national resource persons empanelled by the Ministry of Rural Development and resource persons from National Support Organization PRADAN.
     Delivering the key note address, additional secretary RD and mission director NSRLM, Athel O. Lotha, mentioned that one’s technical knowledge on agriculture or livestock gained from universities may not fully empower a person for direct implementation of livelihoods intervention since there were various dynamics involved in planning and execution. She therefore urged the mission staff to take advantage of the training, capacitate oneself and translate the knowledge to the grassroot people. She also stated the need to genuinely understand and feel the challenges faced by the rural people so as to address these challenges through interventions of NSRLM.   
    As part of the training, field visit to Khuzama village under Jakhama resource block was facilitated for field exercise of the classroom learning of the previous day. The third day involved integration of classroom and field learning to develop further plan of action for the 9 resource blocks of NSRLM.
