
The five-day induction training programme organised by Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) came to an end on August 3 in Kohima.
A press release from state project manager M&E/IBCB, NSRLM, Kohima, Imonenla Imkong Phom stated that, participants were the newly recruited area coordinators and accountant-cum-data entry operator managers from the 18 blocks.
In her keynote address, addl. secretary, RD and mission director, NSRLM, Athel O. Lotha congratulated and welcomed the new team to the family of Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM). She briefly highlighted history of DAY-NRLM and its thrust area, and the commendable milestone NSRLM have reached in its 7th year of implementation. She encouraged the participants to take it as honour to be working for the rural poor of Nagaland as they have been chosen from amongst thousands of equally qualified candidates to be part of this noble mission.
In his address, M. Rollan Lotha, chief operating officer, NSRLM stressed on the multi-dimensional face/context of rural poverty where the poor face geographic, economic, social, political and identity-based exclusion which intersect in complex ways, creating barriers that the poor were unable to break. He explained that NRLM seeks to provide greater focus and momentum to poverty reduction ensuring broad-based inclusive growth and reduce disparities by spreading its benefits across the communities, sectors and regions. He also shared the state mission’s results framework which is a learning, live and dynamic framework.
State mission team oriented the new staff on various thematic under DAY-NRLM on the first day. The remaining two days were facilitated by state team Imonenla Imkong Phom, Khriezovonuo Lhoungu and BendangToshi on institution building, capacity building, social inclusion, social development, and gender. Mark Lanthou also facilitated the participants on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and field visit.
Parallel induction training on accounting and MIS was facilitated by state team comprising of Renvunguo Murry, Lansothung Yanthan, Chenogi Semp and Alongba Imchen.
