NSS PCC attends youth festival

NSS-Unit of Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), representing the Nagaland State NSS, attended the National Youth Festival on the theme ‘Youth for clean, green and progressive India,’ jointly organizes by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India and Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Assam, at Guwahati from January 8 – 12.
Along with the rest of the country, 8 NSS volunteers including 5 boys and 3 girls from Patkai NSS-Unit and a volunteer from Oriental College, Kohima, an awardee of Indira Gandhi NSS Award, 2014, attended the said camp.
The purpose and aims of the camp was to imbibe in youth the values of integration and unity of the country, to share and appreciate each others traditional and cultural heritage.
The Programme was a learning experience for the volunteers of revealing to different culture and tradition and societies. Patkai NSS-Unit has extended gratitude to C Theyo, State Liaison Officer, and the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports, Kohima, for providing opportunity to the volunteers to attend the camp.
