NSS SASRD, NSS unit Wokha observe Intl Day of nonviolence

NSS volunteers along with PVC, Dean, coordinator and chairman, NUTAM, SASRD had a peace march from SASRD Campus to Medziphema town to commemorate International Day of nonviolence on October 2.
The program was coordinated by Prof Akali Sema, exhortation by Prof.  N.S. Jamir, PVC and Prof. Aleminla Ao, dean, SASRD. Invocation prayer by president EU, SASRD. The nonviolence and peace pledge was read out by all participants.  The program was followed by essay competition for the NSS volunteers on the topic “the essence of nonviolence in our society”.
NSS unit Wokha: NSS unit Wokha commemorated international nonviolence day on October 2 with a “Peace Marathon”.  A press release by assistant professor and NSS BBC Wokha, Leonard Mozhui stated that altogether 120 NSS members from Mt. Tiyi College (MTC) and Bailey Baptist College (BBC) participated in the marathon run. It stated that the pledge for the marathon was pronounced by assistant professor MTC Janbemo Tsopoe, flag-off by youth resource officer Wokha Libemo Jami. The short programme was chaired by Leonard Mozhui NSS PO BBC Wokha.
