NSS Unit NU Kohima holds orientation

DIMAPUR: National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema organised an Orientation cum Volunteer Registration on September 16 at the School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University.
Addressing the newly inducted volunteers, Shanchamo Yanthan, Programme Officer, NSS, highlighted the objectives and activities of NSS. He said NSS is a student oriented community service programme that connects higher education with society, with its central idea being to develop students through voluntary service and social responsibility. He explained that the guiding motto “Not Me But You” places the welfare of others before self.
Yanthan informed that the unit would undertake activities such as community outreach, awareness programmes, special camps, campus initiatives and student development from time to time.
Volunteers were also guided on the registration process through the www.mybharat.gov.in portal.
Altogether 91 volunteers took part in the programme. At the end, they participated in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 Quiz, consisting of 20 questions on general knowledge and national policies, which takes around 5-10 minutes to complete. The quiz is open to all youth nationwide through the mybharat.gov.in portal using mobile number or email address.
