While acknowledging the decision of the cabinet to streamline SSA 2010-13 batch into the mainstream of school education cadre, NSSATA 2010 & 13 Mokokchung unit has highlighted the hardships faced by them due to non-payment of salaries in spite of repeated assurances by the government.
A press release by NSSATA 2010 &13 Mokokchung unit president, Aridong and general secretary, Temsuinla stated that salaries from September were still pending and teachers were on the “verge of losing our zest to teach”.
Stating that it was inhumane to direct or exhort teachers to give quality education while keeping them and their families malnourished, the NSSATA 2010 & 13 Mokokchung unit urged the government to hasten release of RoP effected salaries pending from September.
It stated that as per the agreement signed on June 12 in the presence of ENSF and NSF, the unit had extended full cooperation towards all directives for submission of various documents. Moreover with Christmas fast approaching, the unit stated that it wanted nothing less than three months salary (September to November) by first week of December.
NSSATA 2010 & 13 Mokokchung unit also urged the NSF and ENSF to continue with their support towards the cause and to bring their promise to fruition during this trying time.
