NSSB member Er. Ghukhui passes away; CM, Kaito mourn

Er. Ghukhui Zhimomi, member of Nagaland State Selection Board (NSSB) passed away in New Delhi on February 29 following brief illness. According to family sources, the funeral service will be held on March 2, 9 a.m. at his private residence, Diphupar-B (Relkameno).
Rio: Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, while expressing sadness over the untimely demise of Er. Ghukhui Zhimomi, described him as an efficient officer, who served the state government in various capacities. In a condolence note, Rio said, after his retirement, Er. Ghukhui joined Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and contested in the general elections from 36 Satakha A/C in 2018. Knowing his capabilities, Rio said Er. Ghukhui was later appointed as a member in NSSB. Besides his profession, Rio said Er. Ghukhui was someone who prioritised the welfare of public and that his sudden demise was a heavy loss for the Sumi community, in particular, and the Nagas in general. He said the vacuum created would be difficult to fill.


Rio also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty God give them solace and courage to bear the irreparable loss, and the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
Kaito: Minister, PWD (Roads & Bridges), G Kaito Aye has expressed condolences on the sudden and untimely demise of Er. Ghukhuyi Zhimomi. In a condolence note, Kaito said the passing of late Er. Ghukhuyi has left a deep void in his heart as the deceased was not only a close friend but also a brother to him.

Kaito said late Er. Ghukhuyi was not just a significant figure in his life but was also an invaluable pillar of support in his political journey. As a former government official, Kaito said Er. Ghukhuyi’s contributions were instrumental in shaping the development landscape of the region, and that his expertise, passion, and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark, impacting the lives of countless individuals. Until his last breath, Kaito said Er. Ghukhuyi continued to serve diligently as a member of NSSB, embodying the spirit of public service and selflessness. He said the loss was not just personal but a collective loss for the Sumi community and the entire state of Nagaland. On behalf of the people of Satakha, Kaito offered support and prayers to the bereaved family, friends, and loved ones during this time of profound grief and mourning.
