Along with the rest of the country, National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation Government of India, regional office Kohima, celebrated the 12th National Statistics Day 2018 on June 29 at the regional office, NSSO (FOD) Kohima, under the theme, “Quality Assurance in Official Statistics”. A press release from director, M.M. Singh stated that the day is observed on the birth anniversary of late professor, P.C. Mahalanobis, the father National Statistics in India. During the celebration, director (ISS), NSSO (FOD), Regional Office Kohima, M.M. Singh presented the key-note address focussing on the theme; the program was conducted by SSO, Avi Thakro; a welcome address was delivered by SSO, L.K. Ngathingkhui; while vote of thanks was proposed by SSO, O. Patton.
