NSUI state unit protests JEE main 2021 paper leak

 Demands SC-monitored probe

Following the CBI filing a case over alleged irregularities in the JEE Main 2021 exam against a private institute, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland state unit joined a countrywide protest and demanded  institution of an enquiry under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge.
NSUI Nagaland state through its media cell stated that the central government should be termed as the ‘paper-leak government’. “NSUI blames the Modi raj for their reckless administration of National Testing Agency,” the unit stated.
The student wing of the Congress stated that the party had conducted a press conference on the issue in Delhi earlier and NSUI national president Neeraj Kundan called for a country wide protest. The union stated that failure to resolve the issue on time would “create restlessness and doubts among the student fraternity about the exam conducting bodies.” It blamed the government for the paper leak and other irregularities in the competitive exams, saying the National Testing Agency (NTA) established in November 2017 was approved by the union council of ministers in order to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions.
After the Modi government coming to power, NSUI unit claimed that there had been “constant ignorance of the student issues” resulting in the paper leak of such prestigious examinations like JEE.
It questioned that when such examinations were not being able to be protected by the government then how could the students trust other competitive exams to be safe and fair.
NSUI also demanded the resignation of the education minister on moral grounds as that seemed to be the “only way right now to prove the intent and sensitivity of the Modi government towards student issues.”
