NSUP candlelight vigil for 6 Nagas killed

DIMAPUR: Naga Students’ Union Pune (NSUP) organised a peaceful candlelight vigil at Sportswing, Mundhwa, on June 15, 2026 in honour of the Nagas killed in Manipur.
Around 200 people, including members of the Naga community, students, elders and well wishers, attended the gathering to pay tribute to the departed souls and express solidarity with their families.
The vigil served as a platform for collective mourning, reflection and prayer. Participants lit candles as a symbol of remembrance and unity, reiterating their call for justice, peace and accountability.
In a message delivered on his behalf, NSUP president in charge Rumen Pongener expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of innocent lives and extended condolences to the bereaved families. He condemned the killing of civilians and urged authorities to ensure justice at the earliest.
Dr. Widiangliu Nkhamnamai also expressed shock and dismay, calling for immediate government intervention to secure justice for the Naga community without bias.
Naga Christian Fellowship Pune, led by pastor Meyikumzuk Ozukum, offered prayers for peace, healing and stability in Manipur and guided the vigil.
The gathering stood as a strong expression of unity among the Naga community in Pune, reaffirming their commitment to stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and demanding justice without delay.
