NSVDBSA on GiA funding issue

Taking note of the issue pertaining to GIA (Grant-In-Aid) funds, Nagaland State VDB Secretary Association (NSVDBSA) Saturday informed that after detailed inquiry, in all 74 RD blocks, it was found that funds were already released for Dimapur, Peren and Mon.

However, the fund was kept in the accounts of the respective deputy commissioners/chairmen of VDBs. In a press note, NSVDBSA president, Tohoshe Awomi pointed out that the release for the majority RD Blocks was delayed due to certain technicalities as most of the VDBs were still yet to furnish documents like– Utilization Certificate, audit report of the previous funds released and New Scheme proposal which was required for the release of the fund.

NSVDBSA has therefore urged BDOs to be in their place of posting and help the VDBs furnish all the required documents for the immediate release of the funds. NSVDBSA also appreciated the Leader of Opposition for bringing out the issue in the public domain, particularly the rural poor and for playing the role of constructive opposition.
