NEW DELHI, JUN 6 (AGENCIES): National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday dismissed claims circulating on social media and messaging platforms alleging a leak, advance access or sale of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination question paper. In a post on X, the agency said such claims were “false, fraudulent and intended to mislead” candidates and parents.
NTA stated that the messages were being circulated by organised cheating rackets seeking to exploit the anxiety of students and their families by selling fake question papers. “These claims are false, fraudulent and intended to mislead. Such content is the work of organised cheating rackets that prey on the anxiety of students and their families,” the agency said.
It asserted that the integrity of the examination process remained intact and that all safeguards were in place to ensure a fair and secure examination. The agency informed that it was actively identifying and reporting the channels, accounts and content involved to social media platforms and cybercrime authorities for immediate action.
NTA further said it was filing formal complaints with law enforcement and cybercrime authorities, warning that creating, circulating or forwarding such fraudulent content and attempting to defraud students was a serious punishable offence.
Candidates and parents were advised not to engage with, pay for, or forward such messages and to rely only on official communications. “We urge all aspirants to ignore these rumours and rely solely on official communication issued by NTA through its verified website and channels,” it said. NEET-UG exam for admission to medical courses was conducted on May 3 but was cancelled on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The CBI is investigating the matter and a re-test has been scheduled for June 21.
