DIMAPUR: Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), in collaboration with the Nagaland Association of Tour Operators (NATO), celebrated World Tourism Day 2026 with a trek from Peak of Hope to Kapamodzü on September 28.
Around 50 members of the tourism fraternity took part in the event, which began with a devotional service at Peak of Hope Chapel. Participants climbed the 504 steps to Peak of Hope before setting out on the 3.7 kilometre trail to Kapamodzü. The route combined two destinations that visitors can enjoy individually-Peak of Hope offering a scenic climb and Kapamodzü providing a rewarding end point.
The trail gave participants time to experience forested stretches, fresh mountain air and panoramic views at a slower pace. With its moderate distance, the trek is seen as a promising option for visitors seeking a manageable hiking experience, suitable for families, nature lovers, photographers and adventure enthusiasts.
For NTA and NATO, the event was an opportunity to highlight the tourism potential of the route and encourage travellers to explore beyond Nagaland’s established circuits. The participation of industry members reflected a shared interest in developing experiences that connect visitors more closely with local landscapes and communities.
