DIMAPUR: In a significant initiative to strengthen and promote tourism in the district, recommended individuals from Zunheboto officially constituted the Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Zunheboto Unit at a meeting held on June 27 at Khonheche Café, Zunheboto.
The gathering deliberated on the vast tourism potential of the district and emphasised the need for a united platform to promote sustainable tourism, preserve cultural heritage and create opportunities for local communities through responsible initiatives.
Members unanimously resolved to establish the district unit of NTA with the vision of promoting eco‑tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism and community‑based tourism, while working in close coordination with the Department of Tourism and other stakeholders.
The house also nominated office bearers for the newly formed unit: Holoka T. Sumi as president, Vino Achumi as general secretary, Tokavi K. Zhimo as media secretary, Vitoka Yepthomi as treasurer, Viza Zhimomi and Kavitoli K. Sumi as programme coordinators, Gloria Awomi, Tughuka Muru and Khekivi Awomi as executive members, while Ivan Zhimomi and Tavinto Sumi were appointed advisors.
The newly constituted team expressed commitment to identify and promote the untapped tourism potential of Zunheboto district.
