NTC lauds Sumi bodies for resolving dispute, withdrawing case

Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has congratulated the Sumi Legislative body and Sumi Hoho for withdrawing the complaint/legal case filed against the present Sumi Hoho leadership, stating that the decision has settled differences and conflicts that persisted for the past two to three years.
In a press release, NTC president C. Pankathung Lotha and general secretary C. Onen Walling expressed appreciation for what it termed as a “right decision,” adding that the Sumi community, being one of the major tribes in Nagaland, has an important role to play in the overall progress and development of the state, including the present stalemate on the Naga political issue.
NTC reiterated that no single tribe or community, however advanced, can achieve much alone or remain invincible in a fast-changing time.
It stressed the need for all Nagaland tribes to stay united and work together for the welfare of future generations, stating that it was their bounden duty as guides, leaders and guardians.
