NTHCC, ENPO to pursue common Naga issues

DIMAPUR, MAY 27 (NPN): Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC) and Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) have resolved to induct Eastern Nagaland tribal hohos into the “NTHCC” until a proper common platform was formed with the objective of pursuing common Naga issues.
The resolution was adopted during the second consultative meeting between NTHCC and ENPO held at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, on May 27, 2026 hosted by ENPO.
The meeting, attended by leaders of all apex tribal bodies of Nagaland, deliberated extensively on Naga unity, brotherhood and collective responsibility towards safeguarding the rights and aspirations of the Naga people.
In a statement, NTHCC secretary Dr. Vihuto Asumi informed that NTHCC would comprise 15 tribes of Nagaland — Angami, Ao, Chakhesang, Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Lotha, Phom, Pochury, Rengma, Sangtam, Sümi, Tikhir, Yimkhiung and Zeliang.
The meeting also selected Angami Public Organization (APO) president Thejao Vihienuo as convenor, Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) president Throngso Yimkhiung as co-convenor and Sümi Hoho president Dr. Vihuto Asumi as secretary.
Further, the meeting appealed to the Nagas and Kukis in Manipur to work towards peaceful resolution instead of confrontation and called for immediate release of innocent hostages, terming such acts as against humanity.
Further, the house urged the state government to implement the tripartite Memorandum of Agreement signed among the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland and ENPO at the earliest.
