NTPRADAO (PJ) backs JCC strike; pledges volunteer support

Dimapur

Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organization – People’s Justice (NTPRADAO-PJ) has extended strong support to the ongoing pen-down strike initiated by the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), comprising CANSSEA, FONSESA, NIDA, NSSA, and NF&ASA, over the issue of non-SCS officer selection into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
In a press release, NTPRADAO-PJ stated that the JCC’s demand was “genuine and logical,” and criticised the state government’s handling of the matter, describing the move to induct non-SCS officers as detrimental to merit-based service standards.
The organisation expressed concern over the implications that such decisions could have on future generations and the integrity of the IAS cadre.
NTPRADAO-PJ also expressed disappointment with the “so called original” NTPRADAO signatories for not actively supporting the Joint Coordination Committee cause and affirmed its willingness to “burn its finger for a just cause.”
It pledged logistical support of 100 volunteers for any future strike, agitation, or protest until the JCC’s demands are met.
The organisation further expressed dismay over the lack of open support from civil society organisations, intellectuals, and community leaders, urging collective action to safeguard the future of qualified youth and uphold justice in public service appointments.
