Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organization (NTPRADAO) reiterated its demand for immediate suspension of Dimapur Municipal Council nominee and NDPP Dimapur region youth vice president, Enoch S. Wotsa, son of LJP (RV) MLA Dr. Sukhato Sema, “until proven innocent in the criminal case registered against him and dismissed by court of law in Dimapur.”
In a statement, NTPRADAO also condemned the “inaction” of DMC chairman Hukheto Yepthomi and deputy chairperson Imlinaro Stephanie Ezung, both from NDPP, for “failing to apprise the higher ups in the best possible manner on the suspension issue.” The organisation alleged that the duo appeared least bothered by the sensitive nature of the issue when the entire Nagas were totally aware of the concern.
It further slammed LJP (RV) state president Viloto Pukhato for remaining a silent spectator when, as a political party, a high order of public decorum and moral bar has to be maintained. It recalled that it had earlier appealed to LJP (RV) to submit a report to its central leaders in Delhi for necessary action.
NTPRADAO pointed out that ordinary citizens caught red-handed transporting illegal liquor suffer jail for a couple of months, but in the case of Enoch, he seemed to be presently roaming around scot-free.
Stating that it would escalate “an action-oriented strategy,” NTPRADAO vowed to continue pressing its demand until Enoch resigns gracefully and peacefully to uphold a high standard of public propriety.
