NTTU requests Peren deputy commissioner to revoke notification

Nagaland Timber traders’ Union (NTTU) in a press release has requested the Peren Deputy Commissioner to revoke the notification served on January 11, 2017, banning vehicles carrying log and timber to pass Peren District headquarter without prior permission from competent authorities after April 30, 2017.
NTTU president Kevise Sogotsu informed that on receiving the notification the union had submitted a representation to the incumbent Peren DC on April 25 seeking either revocation or cancellation of the notification.
NTTU said the notification served by the DC would be affecting the Timber traders business which in turn would directly hamper the livelihood of the traders guaranteed under Article 14- Right to Equality, Article 19(1) (g)-Freedom of Profession, Trade and Business and Article 21-Right to life and livelihood as enshrined in the constitution of India.
The union further said, if its request made in the representation was not met, it would be compelled to seek redressal from appropriate court of law.
