NU holds prog on ‘Hindi Fortnight 2021’

An inaugural and official language pledge programme of Hindi Fortnight-2021 was organised on September 14 at Nagaland University (NU) headquarters, Lumami. 

In a press release, NU informed that chief guest of the programme, vice-chancellor, professor Pardeshi Lal emphasised the importance of mother tongue.

He said Hindi language would become a universal language only when the number of people who understood it increased. 

In a special address, professor Mithilesh Kumar Sinha (department of economics) pointed out that emphasis must be on the promotion of Hindi language while respecting all other languages too.

The programme started with Saraswati Vandana, sung by Rudresh, music teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya; welcome address was delivered by assistant professor Dr. Pranay Punj Pankaj; official language pledge was led by registrar Dr. Abemo and vote of thanks was by PRO Peter Ki.
