NU hosts capacity building program on vigilance

DIMAPUR

Nagaland University organised a one-day capacity building program (Training of Trainers) on October 17, at the Conference Hall, Administrative Complex, Lumami, as part of its observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025. The training focused on “Investigation & reporting, framing chargesheets, and conducting a CTE-type intensive examination.”
In his address, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. Jagadish K. Patnaik, urged participants to uphold transparency and vigilance beyond the annual observance. He emphasized the importance of maintaining public trust and institutional integrity while discouraging frivolous complaints that could undermine morale.
The technical session was led by Additional Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, Tiamenla Phom, who served as the resource person. She provided detailed training on investigative procedures, charge sheet framing, and CTE-type examinations, using practical examples and case studies to ensure clarity and comprehension.
The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony chaired by assistant professor, Department of Law Dr. Rumi Dhar. Deputy Registrar (GAD), Kahoshe Sumi, delivered the introductory remarks.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by System Administrator of Nagaland University, Er. Zajamo Yanthan.
Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 is scheduled to be observed from October 27 to November 2 under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” Activities during the week are being coordinated by Chief Vigilance Officer of the University, Prof. Lanusashi Longkumer.
