Nagaland University, Lumami, concluded the valedictory programme and prize distribution ceremony of Hindi Fortnight 2025 on September 29, marking the culmination of two weeks dedicated to the promotion of Hindi language and culture.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff and students. Prof. Mithilesh Kumar Sinha, Senior Professor, Department of Economics, graced the occasion as chief guest, while Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director (Sports), delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the role of Hindi in national integration and cultural unity.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Ashish Kumar, Hindi Officer, followed by chairing of the event by Dr. Ashutosh Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Department of EVS. Vote of thanks was delivered by Peter Ki, Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nagaland University.
Prominent attendees included Yanrenthung Ezung, Controller of Examinations (CoE); Dr. Kevezai Tureng, director, College Development Council (CDC); Prof. Joginder Singh Panwar, Director, IQAC; along with Deans, Heads of Departments, Officers, and faculty members of the Hindi Cell.
The highlight of the programme was the prize distribution ceremony, where winners of various competitions held during the fortnight were felicitated by the chief guest and CoE. The competitions aimed to encourage appreciation of Hindi through literary, cultural and academic activities.
The event concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to promote Hindi as an essential medium of communication and learning across academic and administrative spheres of the university.
