A Gram Sabha under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program was conducted by Nagaland University (NU) at Sumi Settsu village under Akuluto block of Zunheboto district on August 30.
A press release from KVK, Zunheboto, NU senior scientist and head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia stated that the program was initiated to interact with villagers and village elders to discuss the problems they face and to provide solutions.
The program was chaired by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia who suggested activities that needed to be taken up for overall development of the village. Dr. Kundan Kumar, SMS Agri. Extn. spoke about the importance of holding Gram Sabha meetings.
Head GB and village council chairman of Sumi Settsu along with villagers participated in the program. Based on the problems, an action plan was framed to resolve some issues related to post harvest technologies and sanitation.
