
NU SASRD, Medziphema in collaboration with state Department of Agriculture, under the initiative of dean NU SASRD prof. Akali Sema organised a seven-day virtual practical training from January 18 to 25 on “virtual training on ecological farming” for the B.Sc (Agri) 2nd and 3rd year students.
A press release by NU SASRD project assistant, STINER-TFC, Rokosieno Zao stated that SPREAD NE, secretary general, Samir Bordoloi was the resource person. The training programme was divided into different sessions which covered various topics, while each session had some practical activities for the students as assignments.
During one of the sessions, a video clip on ecological farming known as the “food forest” owned by the resource person was shared with the students. He also shared on how he started as an agripreneur. Meanwhile, the overall training programme revolved around preservation and sustenance of ecological farming system and discussions ad well as feedbacks were encouraged from the participants after every session.
Earlier,the programme was chaired by prof. AkaliSema and facilitated by HoD, agricultural extension, prof. KK Jha, while Tatkung gave a feedback on behalf of the student participants.
Concluding remark was given by dean, SASRD. Altogether, a total number of 60 participants attended the training programme.
