Chuchuyimlang Kaketshir Telongjem (CKT) celebrated its platinum jubilee on December 28, at Anu Mai Amphitheatre, Chuchuyimlang village under the theme “Nukmen Tasen” with minister for NH, Mechanical & Election Nuklutoshi as chief guest.
In his speech Nuklutoshi paid tribute to the founding members of CKT and opined that the present generation should be equally acquainted with the true principles of the student body, as the founders had envisioned.
He then said that the common Nagas stereotype “education for a white collared job” should be abandoned.
Nuklutoshi said attaining education should be understood for over all development of a personality, to bear responsibility of the community with a refined culture, towards peace and unity.
Saying “Youth is the time for achieving greater heights” Nuklutoshi encouraged them not miss that opportunity and to embrace our forefathers’ belief in the dignity of labour, hard work and self reliance.
He further added that the urgent need of the Nagas was for a united front towards the Naga political issue, for a permanent and acceptable solution which would usher in peace and development to end unemployment problem.
Earlier, platinum jubilee souvenir was released by the chief guest and word of exhortation was delivered by district and session Judge Mon, Mayang Lima, while short speeches were delivered by president, AKM Jemdimenba and ex-MLA Imliyanger.
The programme was chaired by Imtikumzuk, invocation prayer was pronounced by Pastor CTBC, Rev. Temjen, benediction prayer was pronounced by CBC, A/P (W) Yimsunaro, while key speaker of the opening session was delivered by NPSC Member, Chubainla.
