NUNTSA to organise annual sports meet on Oct 14

DIMAPUR, OCT 13 (NPN): The Nagaland University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) will organise its one-day Annual Sports Meet on October 14 at the university headquarters in Lumami, with the aim of promoting physical fitness, teamwork, camaraderie and unity among non-teaching employees.
The sports meet will feature a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including badminton, volleyball, chess, football, carrom and penalty shoot-out, along with other games. Non-teaching staff members from various sections and departments of the university are expected to participate in the event, fostering healthy competition, cooperation and sportsmanship.
For the meet, participants have been divided into four teams — Milak, Zungki, Doyang and Dikhu, which will compete in different sporting events.
NUNTSA president Imchawabang Aonok said the association’s present executive team, whose tenure spans 2023–2026, is scheduled to conclude its term on October 30, 2026. He said the sports meet is being organised as part of the commemoration of the completion of the executive team’s tenure.
Aonok expressed hope that the event would encourage greater participation among employees, strengthen bonds between colleagues and promote a lasting spirit of unity and togetherness among the university’s non-teaching staff.
The association has called for enthusiastic participation from all non-teaching staff members to make the annual sports meet a memorable occasion celebrating sportsmanship, fellowship and unity within Nagaland University.
