Nagaland University Teachers Association (NUTA) and NU Non Teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) organised a farewell program for outgoing pro-vice chancellor, professor R C Gupta on December 5 at Ladies Common Room of Nagaland University, Kohima campus, Meriema.
A press release by NUTA stated that NUTA, Kohima campus, president, professor B V Rao, in his speech, described professor Gupta as a renowned academician and researcher, good administrator who has contributed lot to research in the field agricultural chemistry and biochemistry. He said professor Gupta had published more than 150 research papers in national and international journals of repute and was also chief editor for Nagaland University Research Journal (2006-2013).
NUNTSA, Kohima Campus, vice president, Imchatoshi; dean School of Social Sciences, professor, N. Venuh and dean, School of Humanities and Education, professor N Das also remembered and lauded the works of the outgoing pro-VC.
In his farewell speech, professor Gupta thanked the faculty, non teaching staff, students and all well wishers for being a part of his professional journey.
He spoke about his initial journey at SASRD Campus, Medziphema and the prevailing situation at the time and added that he enjoyed the entirety of his 40 year long journey in Nagaland. The program was chaired by professor Rosemary Dzuvichu, special songs were presented by teaching and non teaching staff, and a vote of thanks was proposed by head of department (Education), professor Buno Liegise.
