
State National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) along with the state IEC Bureau, directorate of Health & Family Welfare undertook malaria awareness and prevention campaign in four districts in view of the transmission season for malaria in the month of June and July.
The team conducted interpersonal communication and focus group discussions with the village councils, church leaders and the community. The team also performed malaria infotainment, followed by health talks in 17 schools. Street play on malaria was also performed in various points.
The team led by health education training officer, IEC bureau DH&FW, IEC consultant NVBDCP and IEC officials from the directorate and districts imparted health talks on environmental sanitation and personal hygiene, inter personal communication on prevention and control of malaria, IPC on LLIN usage and also carried out cleanliness drive along with leaflets & poster campaign.
The districts covered were Shamator block (Tuensang) covering 7 villages, Tamlu Block (Longleng) 6 villages, Mopung Block (Mon) 7 villages, Sitimi Block (Kiphire) 8 villages. The team would further proceed to Pughoboto block (Zunheboto) to carry out the activities.
