National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme (NVBDCP) Kiphire observed Anti-malaria month under the theme “Accelerating the fight against Malaria for a more equitable world” from June 1 to 30.
During the month, the district covered hard to reach and high risk areas emphasizing the public on the usage of Long Lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN), awareness on cause, prevention and symptoms of malaria, screening of fever cases and also encouraged the public to keep their surrounding clean especially to control the breeding side of mosquitoes.
The department also encouraged the public to get their blood tested with the onset of fever to the nearness health unit/ASHA since malaria was curable and also the treatment and Anti-Malaria Drugs were free of cost.
Meanwhile, NVBDCP led by District Vector Borne Officer (DVBO) Dr.Martha, VBD Consultant Zhokuve Vero, and Malaria Technical Supervisors (MTS) Kiphire, sought the cooperation of the community to eliminate Malaria and make the district a malaria free district.
