NVCO condemns Jan 22 incident

Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO) has vehemently condemned the gunshot at various vehicles including Bolero, Maruti Alto, City bus with a sticker “I am ACAUT” and termed the incident ‘wrongful act amounting to serious threat to public interest.’
President NVCO and convenor ACAUT Nagaland (Legal Cell), Kezhokhoto Savi said the gunshot on January 22 midnight was simply a cowardice act. He said any citizen who stands against corruption might not be afraid to put a sticker “I am ACAUT” on one’s vehicle as it is the most effective manner to promote awareness towards eradication of corruption and illegal taxation in the state.
He reiterated that ACAUT is a people’s movement to fight against the corrupt practices and unabated taxation. To those who do not like ACAUT movement in the society, he appealed them to fight against corruption and illegal taxation.
Expressing serious concern over the incident and intolerance that happened in the state capital, Savi has appealed the district administration and police to ensure that the culprits are caught and punish as per the provision of criminal laws.
