NVCO notifies LPG consumers

Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has requested every consumer to register their LPG connection in ‘PAHAL’ (DBTL) and get their subsidy amount directly in their bank account.
While pointing out at one of the guidelines of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, NVCO stated that non PAHAL registered consumers would get subsidized LPG cylinder only up to March 31, 2015.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation has issued the public notification following complaint from Naga Hospital Colony Panchayat, Kohima, highlighting their grievances meted out by Belho Gas Agency, Kohima, in delivering LPG domestic connection. It alleged that Belho Gas Agency refused to give to consumers at the present prevailing rate i.e Rs 470 per cylinder especially for those who have not register in PAHAL scheme stating that it was compulsory for every consumer whether enrolled in ‘PAHAL’ or not have to pay Rs 850 per cylinder i.e including the Rs 50 as carrying charge.
NVCO has requested Belho Gas Agency to consider the guidelines of Government of India by honoring the appeal of Naga Hospital Colony Panchayat. NVCO has also appreciated the initiative of Naga Hospital Colony Panchayat in fighting for the rights of consumers.
NVCO further complaint against black-marketing which leads to shortage of LPG supply especially domestic connection with an appealed to state government to put some more efforts to solve shortage of supply as one major problem in consumer’s daily life.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation has also requested all the district administration to conduct time to time surprise check into hotels, restaurant, hostel, guest house, lodge and seized LPG domestic connection as they are allow to use only LPG commercial connection.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation claimed it receives maximum complaint on LPG domestic connection as consumers have to stand in a line for several hours and many a time don’t get on the pretext ‘it is over’ while they are easily available in black-market at the rate ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs.1300 per LPG.
