The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) has announced the postponement of the proposed State Level Free Style, Greco Roman Style, and Women Wrestling Championship originally scheduled for October 21 and 22. The decision follows the outcome of the Executive Office Bearers (EOB) meeting held on October 13.
In a press release issued by NWA joint secretary Kuzhovesa Soho, the postponement was attributed to an unfavourable situation that has arisen, making it untenable to hold the championship as planned. The association has requested all affiliated and provisional units to bear with the inconvenience caused.
As part of its efforts to reform and revive wrestling disciplines in the state, the NWA has directed all affiliated and provisional units to organize training and coaching camps for Free Style, Greco Roman Style, and Women Wrestling within their respective jurisdictions by November 15, 2025. Units are required to submit official reports along with photographs of the camps to the NWA office. These camps will serve as a basis for selecting wrestlers to represent Nagaland at the 2025 Senior National Wrestling Championship, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat from December 12 to 14 under the aegis of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
The NWA has invited interested wrestlers to contact their respective units or the NWA office for participation in an upcoming coaching camp outside the state. The final date for submitting the confirmation list of wrestlers is October 18, 2025, before 12:00 noon.
