NWHD, CSUD back DNSU stand on Nirmal Jain issue

Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) and Chakhesang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD) have commended the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) for its firm stand on the Nirmal Jain indigenous certificate issue, describing the cancellation of the certificate as a victory for the Naga people.
In a statement, NWHD expressed appreciation to DNSU for upholding justice and safeguarding indigenous identity. It noted that the cancellation of the Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate issued in the name of Nirmal Jain by the DC, following DNSU’s efforts, underscored the importance of vigilance and collective responsibility. NWHD said it was proud of the student body for rising with courage, responsibility, and integrity in addressing the matter, and reaffirmed solidarity with all efforts to protect the rights and identity of indigenous people.
CSUD media cell, in its statement, also conveyed gratitude to Dimapur district administration led by DC, for executing justice through the cancellation of the fraudulent certificate. It congratulated DNSU for proactively pursuing the issue from its genesis to its conclusion, terming the outcome a testament to unity and a safeguard for identity, land rights, and moral values. CSUD described the cancellation as a victory for all Nagas and urged the younger generation to embrace modern changes while remaining rooted in traditions and culture.
