DIMAPUR, SEP 12 (NPN): The Nerhema Youth and Sports Organisation (NYSO) formally launched “Vision 75: The Futsal Chapter” at the Futsal Turf, Chiephobozou, on September 12. The initiative marks the beginning of NYSO’s Platinum Jubilee march under the theme, “The Platinum Jubilee March Begins with Unity, Honor & Legacy.”
The programme was graced by president of BJP Kohima district, Khrielie Üsou, as the inaugural guest. Khrielie Üsou underscored the role of sports in youth development and community building. He urged players to rely on discipline, perseverance, and hard work rather than family background or financial circumstances. Stressing sincerity, honesty, and respect for God, he encouraged youth to embrace productive activities such as farming and organic plantation.
He also called for unity and reconciliation within the community, expressing hope that the initiative would revive sporting spirit and produce players capable of representing the community at higher levels.
In his address, president of NYSO, Kiyasetuo Kengurüse, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the futsal initiative as a platform to nurture sporting talent and promote youth development.
He emphasized NYSO’s commitment to structured sports development through clinics, training programmes, and preparations for the Jubilee 2030 Games Meet.
The futsal season will run from September to December 2026, with matches scheduled every Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A total of 12 teams, comprising around 140–150 players, are participating in the league.
The event was chaired by sports secretary NYSO, Medochütuo Kiewhuo. Invocation was offered by associate pastor of Nerhema Baptist Church, Mezhükholie Pienyü, followed by a special number presented by Thejaneinuo Kiewhuo. The oath-taking ceremony was administered by convenor of the NYSO Futsal Jury Board, Visakuolie Kengurüse.
