DIMAPUR: Advisor for NSDMA and Inland Waterways, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, held a meeting with Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) chairman Sushil Kumar Lohani to discuss the development and future prospects of the Tizu–Zungki National Waterway-101 (NW-101).
During the meeting, the two discussed the potential of NW-101 to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate cross-border trade and promote economic growth by linking Nagaland with neighbouring South Asian countries in line with India’s Act East Policy.
The discussions also focused on the development of Doyang Reservoir, Noune Resort and Shilloi Lake with the objective of harnessing the state’s water resources to boost tourism, improve connectivity and create new economic opportunities.
