Obay village achieves 100% vaccination

COVID-19, Block Task Force (BTF) Tobu on August 3, conducted a vaccination drive at Obay village which is one of the remotest villages under Mon district, nestled alongside pillar no. 148 along the Indo-Myanmar international border on the Indian side.

In a press release, BTF Tobu informed that as the village had no road connection, the team led by ADC Tobu Keyirangding Hegui accompanied by medical staff of Tobu Community Health Centre (CHC), BDO Tobu and one Red Cross volunteer has gone to the village on foot.

In a relentless effort to make vaccination available to everyone in the sub-division, the BTF said it was one of the onerous vaccination drives executed by the task force. Altogether, 41 eligible beneficiaries were vaccinated 

It may be mentioned that Obay village has 30 households and a population of 100.

Special vax drive to be conducted in Wokha: Wokha medical department in collaboration with the district administration has informed that it would be conducting intensified special COVID-19 vaccination drive dated August 7, 9 a.m. onwards.

On the same day Random Rapid Antigen Test would also be conducted for individuals who willing to know COVID-19 antigen status or requiring the test for special reasons.

The vaccination team at the session site would also entertain people with disabilities, mental illness and those unable to come to the session sites due to old age / associated with co-morbidities.

All the illegible beneficiaries above 18 years have been requested to avail the opportunity. The colony session sites are: Blue Hill/Upper Zuvotong- Blue Chairman Residence; PWD /Lower Church Colony- Church Community Hall; Saron /Niropen- Niropen Community Hall; Upper Church Colony GA Colony – GA Community Hall; Midland / NST- NST Community Hall; Tsumang A/B- Town Hall; Airfield/ LCMHS- Airfield Sunday School Building; Molonsu/ GHSS- Molonsu Community Hall; Vungoju /DH- DH; Etchutchukha/ UMTC Titapen/ LMTC- GPS UMTC; Likya/ New Colony / Suren- UPHC.

Zuvotong- Chairman Residence; Forest/Hayichan- Forest Community Hall and Tchuyiro/ Rachan/ Chanka- Santsuo School Rachan.
