Correspondent

Minister of Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse said obedience was essential in the life of students which would lead to greater things as they move forward.
She said this while speaking as the inaugural guest at the ongoing 30th Biennial General Conference of Angami Students’ Union at Tuopheme village on Saturday.
Quoting from the Bible, Kruse said it instructs the children to obey their parents at the same time believe in the wisdom of God almighty.
Kruse pointed out that students life was short and fleeting and therefore one must let studies take precedence over entertainment or other distractions.
She pointed out that students who were able to afford education should consider themselves blessed because there were many of their peers who did not get such opportuntiy.
She therefore urged the students to take full advantage of such an opportunity, study and do their best.
She further said that the theme, “Rational Integrity” were two important rules in life.
Earlier, greetings was conveyed by president, Angami Public Organisation (APO), Razouvotuo Chatsu while organising committee convenor, Kelhouneizo Yhome made the introductory remarks.
The inaugural programme was chaired by organising committee co-convenor, Neidilhoutuo Sechü, while senior pastor, Botsa Baptist Church, Rüdilhou Rio invoked God’s blessings.
ASU president, Bisevi Nakhro, delivered the president’s address while special numbers were presented by Southern Angami Students Union and Maleate.
Day two event highlights included debate on the theme, “Is it time to lift NLTP Act?” with principal, Japfü Christian College, Dr Visakhonü Hibo as the critique and president, Kohima Press Club (KPC) Alice Yhoshü, former journalist Sebastian Zumvü and Neivikuolie Nicholas Khatsu as judges.
Later, the academic session was held in the afternoon and extravaganza time in the evening.
The conference will culminate on April 30 with advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu Kense as the valedictory guest.
